Bloodyburn Cottage, Kircubbin, County Down, is a stone-built cottage,
unique in its
picturesque location - literally on the shore of Bloodyburn Bay with uninterrupted views across Strangford Lough from the Mountains of Mourne to Scrabo
Tower above Newtownards.
Comfortably furnished in traditional style the 125 year
old cottage boasts a large living /dining area, modern
kitchenette and bathroom and a twin-bedroom. There are two extra
sofa-beds, reclining chairs and an open fire place in
the living room, heating in all rooms and an Intercom from the cottage to the main house.
There is also a dog kennel available on request.
Bloodyburn Cottage is located close
to a variety
of interesting historical and heritage sites

Mounstewart House
Only 10 minutes by car, one
of the most beautiful Gardens in Ireland, with tours of
the House (Tea-room and Shop). Nearby, the temple of the
winds is the most exquisite small classical building in
Ireland. |
Greyabbey
Here the Abbey is a fine example of
Anglo-Norman Cistercian Architecture founded in 1193.
Set in beautiful parkland with a small interpretive
centre and a herb garden. |
Castleward House
Cross from Portaferry on the
short ferry trip to Strangford and find Castleward 5
minutes from the village. Tours of the house and garden
with a visit to the laundry in the court yard a must. |

At the south-east edge of
Newtownards are the remains of a Dominican (Black)
Friary founded in 1244. |
