The Carthouse is a beautiful two person cottage with slate roof and half door entrance. It's part of the carefully restored Hanna's Close clachan (village), near Kilkeel in the Mountains of Mourne, County Down, Northern Ireland.  The Carthouse has wonderful views into the close and over the surrounding Mourne countryside.

Ground floor only: Living room and dining area with an open, stone fireplace featuring a traditional crane and crook and hearthstone. Bathroom with WC, bath and over bath shower. Double bedroom, fully equipped fitted kitchen.

FACILITIES
Linen and towels are provided. There is a fridge, washing machine, microwave, television, welcome pack, open fire, central heating, and garden furniture is supplied. A cot and barbecue are available on request, and there is a telephone on site. The Hanna's Close clachan has secure parking, patio garden area and a secluded walled play garden, reached by an old-fashioned stile.

Nearby towns include: Kilkeel - one of the largest fishing fleets in Ireland; Annalong harbour - unique in having an old working cornmill and waterwheel, Newcastle - holiday resort town with restaurants, Irish pubs, nightlife, Rostrevor, Warrenpoint, Newry. The painter or photographer will know about the magnificent scenery of the Mountains of Mourne 'sweeping down to the sea'. The beautiful Silent Valley reservoir is in easy reach of the cottages, and a range of scenic drives offer spectacular views of mountains, Irish sea coast and nearby Carlingford Lough.
