Callaghan's Cottage
is a single storey farmhouse about 3 miles from Kilkeel and just over a mile from the edge of the mountains. It is set in its own grounds, in a network of lanes about 150 yards from the road with a large garden and plenty of parking spaces. An old
Mourne farmhouse, Callaghan's Cottage was extensively renovated in 1999.  

The cottage is not in Hanna's Close but in the adjacent townland of Ballinran about 2 miles from Kilkeel. There is no telephone at this cottage.

The single storey building sleeps 6 people and is very suitable for extended families, families sharing and small groups. 


ACCOMMODATION
Sleeps 6 - One double bedroom, one twin bedroom, one 2 person bunk room (adult size)

Ground floor only: Living/dining room with original stone open fire. Fully equipped kitchen.  Bathroom with overbath shower and WC.  Separate WC.  Separate shower.  Oil fired central heating 

FACILITIES
Linen and towels are provided. There is a fridge, washing machine, microwave, television, welcome pack, open fire, central heating, and garden furniture is supplied. A cot and barbecue are available on request.

Nearby towns include: Kilkeel - one of the largest fishing fleets in Ireland; Annalong harbour - unique in having an old working cornmill and waterwheel, Newcastle - holiday resort town with restaurants, Irish pubs, nightlife, Rostrevor, Warrenpoint, Newry. The painter or photographer will know about the magnificent scenery of the Mountains of Mourne 'sweeping down to the sea'. The beautiful Silent Valley reservoir is in easy reach of the cottages, and a range of scenic drives offer spectacular views of mountains, Irish sea coast and nearby Carlingford Lough.
